Txarango(Spain)

Txarango, one of the very best band in European urban music, was born in Catalunya and stands out as the most remarkable representative of the worldwide known “Barcelona Sound”.

The new album “El cor de la terra” (DiscMedi, 2017) was released on March 2017 and includes collaborations with The Cat Empire, Manu Chao, Jarabe de Palo, EKO Camp or Safari Children’s Choir. The album is still top of the charts in Spain and the first videoclip had reached more than 1.000.000 views in one week. The band won two Gold records and two Impala records with “Som Riu” and “Benvinguts al Llarg Viatge”, even though both album were available for free download on their website.

Txarango’s live show mixes contemporary and traditional music, latin rhythms, reggae and dub with virtuosity, energy and force.They have performed live in 4 continents and over 25 countries, including Mexico, China, Japan, Colombia, Senegal and USA. They have participated in festivals like Glastonbury, Sfinks, Fuji Rock Festival, Summer Stage Festival, Polé Polé, Chaoyang Pop Music Festival, Sound of the Xity, Stockholm Kultur Festivalen, Festival Du Bout du Monde (Orange prize), Festa Do Avante, Home Festival or Esperanzah!…. They were also invited in the most important music expos like Babel Med, Womex, Eurosonic or Medimex.
